Club 4X4 would like to thank Kalen Ziflian for his years of service and leadership. Club 4X4 will continue to provide customers with specialist 4X4 insurance that they can trust to support their travels in putting four-wheel-drives, camper trailers, caravans and touring gear to good use off the beaten track.

A wise bloke once told me that the only constant in life is change – no truer a word has been spoken when you think about the way of the world over the last couple of years. Whilst COVID seems to be at bay, the world is not the same as it was before 2019. Like most change, it’s not a bad thing, it’s just different.

I know in my world, the events of the last couple of years have given rise to challenges, but also helped shine light on the most important things in life. With two young daughters and an amazingly supportive (and understanding!) wife, COVID forced me to spend more time in their worlds. This is something that I have really enjoyed, and I work intently as a father and husband to continue it.

In keeping with this theme of change, I need to announce that I’ve decided to make a significant one in my life and round out my time at Club 4X4. Sadly, this will be the last time you hear from me as a representative of this incredible brand that I’ve been a part of as a partner and shareholder, employee, leader and everything in between for over 7 years – right from the point where it was still a twinkle in the eye.

What an incredible journey it has been. I still recall working on the PDS and developing the “fairy dust” as I’ve called it so many times. This “fairy dust” reflects the product components that truly make us special. From the way we value your 4X4, our Offroad Recovery Cover and Portable Valuables Coverages amongst others.

I recall the run up to the launch of the business at the 2015 Sydney 4X4 & Adventure Show and the completion of our #MobileHQGU’s vinyl wrap just in time. I also hold dear the fond (and relieving!) memory of getting notification of our very first policy sale on the first day of the show.

The 7+ years since then have been a whirlwind. We have handled tens of thousands of claims to keep you on the dirt doing what you love. We now have over 30,000 customers who trust us with their most prized possession; the 4X4 that gives us access to the lifestyle that we all love.

Image

We have gone from a team of 1 (me) to over 30 across our functions with amazing people working in the business throughout the entire journey. People come and go of course, but every single one has made an invaluable contribution to the success story of this business. It’s only ever as good as the people who are involved, and we have always been and continue to be privileged in this aspect.

Club 4X4 has gone from a new market entrant to a brand that is recognised by 4X4 enthusiasts as part of the 4X4 industry, with fantastic partnerships and affiliations across it. As four-wheel-drivers, we are used to bumps in the road, and at Club 4X4 we’ve always navigated them with the specific needs of our customer set in mind. This is something I’ve always been incredibly passionate about and proud of – you’d be surprised to know we’ve made changes to our product based on something I read on a web forum!

Image

On to our amazing customers – I want to thank every single one. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of speaking to many of you, be it at an event or show, over the phone or online, and even out bush. I’ve always made time to take a call or contact for feedback personally, regardless of the nature of it. This has been the ultimate “GPS” so to speak, in guiding the decisions we have made as a business over the last 7 years.

What’s next you ask? Club 4X4 will continue to provide industry leading 4X4 insurance to support off-road adventurers anywhere in Australia with the confidence that their rigs and touring gear are covered. We’ve built a great team over the years and I’m confident that Club 4X4 is in good hands.

And for me? I’m truly not sure at this stage, but I’m sure looking forward to having the space to think about it all! Hopefully in between lots of time behind the wheel on dirt, country back roads, racetracks and maybe even behind a set of handlebars again!

Wishing you all the very best,

And for the final time,

Happy touring,

Kalen Ziflian

Best LandCruiser Engine in 2026: Which One is Right for You?

The LandCruiser name has been earned the hard way, forged across Australia’s harshest tracks and most remote country. While the badge gets the recognition, it’s the engines that built the legacy. The best choice comes down to how you use your 4WD, whether that’s crossing the Simpson, towing a van up the coast, or running a reliable daily that’s ready for the weekend.
